Castelsardo: tradition and history

Description

Castelsardo is a medieval village, one of the oldest in Sardinia. Perched on a promontory overlooking the Gulf of Asinara, the town has grew up around the castle , an ancient stronghold of the Doria family of Genoa,it was born in defense of the territories of the Family.

Today the Castle hosts the Museum of the plot, which houses ancient artifacts made with the art of weaving, such as baskets and pots, using native plants of the place. In the streets of the old town you can buy typical products of the village, such as baskets, tapestries, ceramics, in the large crafts shops.

If you are part of a group or association, ask for a guided tour of the ancient village by bus, which includes BUS+GUIDE+ENTRANCE TO THE MUSEUM
